Modiin Elite

Modi’in Elite, the third Haredi city, includes two main central areas and countless neighborhoods and complexes. The city is already home to over four thousand five hundred families, ken yirbu, and has welcomed residents from many different segments of the Haredi community, including young couples and families blessed with many children. In just a few years, Modi’in Elite will become, G-d willing, the largest Haredi city in Israel, with a population of over 150,000.

Modi’in Elite is situated in the heart of Israel, on a high hill offering spectacular views, mountain air and a year-round comfortable climate. The city is situated between Bnei Brak and Jerusalem, and is approximately 25 minutes by car from both cities. The road to Modi’in Elite – both from Bnei Brak and from Jerusalem, from Road No. 1, does not pass through any Arab communities. The roads from Bnei Brak and Jerusalem are wide 4-lane highways providing easy and convenient access.

There is regular and efficient public transport to and from the city at all times of day, for the highly subsidized price of NIS 10 each way. Approximately 150 buses run each day to and from Jerusalem and Bnei Brak! Modi’in Elite recently began to enjoy an excellent and full-scale service as the company Super Bus has moved in to operate the public transport system to and from the city. City residents now enjoy a fleet of new, comfortable and air-conditioned buses for a subsidized and reasonable price.

The environmental and community development in the city is one the most impressive anywhere in Israel. There are already dozens of synagogues and batei midrashot in the city, over 80 kollelim, fifteen large and small yeshivot, talmudei torah and batei hinuch, kindergartens and day care centers, and fifty mikvot. All this in addition to large commercial centers, giant outlets of all the main supermarket chains, dozens of shops and businesses, bank branches, branches of all the Kupot Holim, and a wide range of offices and services which also help meet the employment and livelihood needs of the city’s residents.
